Aamir Khan starrer supernatural thriller “Talaash” joins Rs.100cr club

Supernatural thriller “Talaash” starring Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan along with Bollywood divas Rani Mukerje and Kareena Kapoor hit jackpot by crossing Rs.100cr of box office collections.

Talaash becomes fastest film to cross 100cr mark in just 10 days by collecting 85.38cr in domestic markets while 46.40cr in overseas. In spite of several new films releasing in last two weeks, Reema Kagti’s directorial venture never ran out of steam at theatre and continued to attract audiences.

Kareena starrer “Heroine” fetched Rs.25 crore in the first weekend

Madhur Bhandarkar’s latest film “Heroine” which featured Bollywood sensation Kareena kapoor in a lead received mixed response from audiences across the country. With first day collection of Rs.8 crore, film started on positive note finishing the weekend with approximate collections of Rs. 25 crore. Multiplexes did better business compared with single screens while metro cities fared better than smaller town in terms of percentage of collections.

The script of Heroine focuses on life of film actress and her journey showing various shades of life. The movie is heavily female lead oriented with little importance given to male characters. Although Kareena Kapoor’s performance got lot of positive feedback by critics as well as common viewers, Madhur Bhandarkar’s directions witnessed repetitiveness due to overlap of story with his earlier film “Fashion”.
