Delhi has become 13th state in India to decide complete ban on Gutka which includes manufacturing, selling, advertising, transportation and storage. Health Minister of Delhi informed that by Tuesday the notification will be issued in this regard.
Currently, in states of Kerala, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Jharkhand, Chandigarh and Gujarat gutka and pan masala is banned by respective state governments. About 10.5% adults in Delhi are consuming smokeless tobacco such as gutka and other products.
